House of Byron

Lord Byron (1788–1824) House of Byron is the imagined fashion house of poet Lord Byron. His style is inspired by Romanticism, his travels on the Grand Tour, and his love of Greece. Byron was a maverick of Regency society, shocking his peers with his private life and his refusal to conform.

Note on the collection
The peacock has two references. The first is that in 1894, it inspired the famous “Peacock Cover” of Pride and Prejudice. The second is the bird’s long-standing role as a symbol of wealth and status.

Note on the branding
I reworked Byron’s signature for inclusion in the branding. I imagine a piece of cloth sewn into the interior of each dress, bearing his signature as a mark of quality and approval.

The shot-on-mannequin approach was also used for the Mrs Blaklin collection in our Vol 2. Around the year 2000, Alexander McQueen launched a new website where all products were photographed against a black background. I think that idea stayed with me when working with the .ai to create these pieces.
